Human Storm Conditions

"A good poet is someone who manages, in a lifetime
of standing out in thunderstorms, to be struck by lightning
five or six times…"
- Randall Jarrell

There's another way of looking at it,
you're the storm and the electro-static
is a constant, knowing you can edit
later. There's an engine in the attic

and incredible colliding cloud
formations, some of them are not allowed.
The information with a certain voltage,
the linguistic like a lightning bolt

and erratic the illumination
as your mind is constantly in motion,
isolating the polarities
and they're a spark-gap for the rarities.

You're summoning the forces and they make
a forest moan, the wind inside a lake.
